International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste
National Public School ITPL’s grade IV students presented a special assembly on The International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW) which is observed annually on September 29th to raise awareness of the importance of reducing food loss and waste-a day that is co-convened by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The students’ earnest attempt was to raise awareness on the burning issue and its aim at reducing food loss and waste throughout the food supply chain and at both the retail and consumer levels. The message was creatively shared through a skit and an informative speech that was filled with suggestions and creative ideas for everyone to pay heed and follow.
