Community Helpers Hands-on activity

Doctor in the Backyard

The nursery students were busy learning about community helpers in their class extension backyard. With a stethoscope and a toy injection, they were empowered to engage in role play, mimicking the actions of doctors and nurses. With the teacher’s encouragement, they were able to learn from both their own and their peers’ role plays, demonstrating their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of community helpers.

This interactive activity allowed them to learn a few terms in the medical field and also express their creativity while reinforcing key concepts through hands-on learning.

Besides, it also helped build social and communication skills as they worked together in their pretend scenarios.
