FIELD TRIP - GRADE XI-XII

On 21st August 2024, the commerce students of grade 11 and 12 were taken on a field trip to the High Court of Karnataka. This educational visit aims to familiarize the students with the practical aspects of the judiciary, offering insight into various legal career options.

When we arrived at the High Court, we were assisted by Mr. Hemanth who works in the court’s administrative department.  As we were guided by him, we were truly mesmerized by the stretch of a long hallway with a total of 14 courtrooms on a single floor. Mr. Hemanth was kind enough to  talk to the judge in courtroom number 29 and seek permission to let us watch the proceedings.

We were fortunate enough to witness 2 cases of which the first case was about a land dispute and the second being an RTO case.  Unfortunately we weren’t able to see the judgments considering the fact that the first case’s judgment got postponed to 23rd August and we weren’t able to entirely witness the second case.

We then got a tour of the High Court wherein we also learnt that the court’s timings are from 10:30am to 4:30pm . It was also told that each judge in the high court handles around 200 cases of all categories in law per day.

The field trip was truly fruitful and an educational experience for the students.
