Bringing Mallajjiya Malige to Life – A Role Play by Grade 5 Kannada 

Grade 5 students of Kannada brought the lesson Mallajjiya Malige to life with the role play activity by getting submersion in the colorful atmosphere of a village shop. They mastered the language skills, asserted their mind, and practiced money exchange as they brought together the tradition of the retail store. It played the role perfectly: that of the astute and ingenious shop owner—an old woman who magically restocked the necessities without ever running out, besides providing the villagers visiting her store as a problem-solver. It is such a thing of wonder, amidst an age dominated by malls and online shopping, reminding everyone of how it once used to be at the local markets-the warmth and the human bonding.
